Out now is the March issue of Vogue Mexico/Latin America, which features Brazilian supermodel Isabeli Fontana with makeup by Moani Lee using Hourglass. The smoldering images, shot on location in Playa del Carmen, appear on the cover of the new issue as well as in a 12-page editorial entitled “Yellow Fever.” Lee matched the sunny shades of the luxurious clothes with golden radiant skin. “It was all about sculpting and highlighting the face to create a sensual statement,” says Lee.

Here’s how to replicate Isabeli’s look:

Skin: Prep skin with No. 28 Primer Serum and follow with by Veil Fluid Makeup in three different shades: #2 Light Beige, #3.5 in Honey and #7 in Chestnut. “I use the deepest shade to contour, the lightest shade to highlight and the matching shade for the rest of the skin,” says Lee. Apply Hidden Corrective Concealer in two shades: Natural to brighten under the eyes, on the tops of cheekbones, down bridge of the nose; and Sand applied sparingly into the sides of the nose to blend. “I let the makeup sit so that it would gently melt into the skin before finishing off with Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light, Mood Light and Luminous Light to create a multi-dimensional luminescence. I used the same powders on her body."

Cheeks: Apply Illume Crème-to-Powder Bronzer Duo in Bronze Light to contour cheeks and add a soft highlight on the tops of the cheekbones and down the bridge of the nose. “I also used the highlighting champagne shade to pick up light on the peaks of her collarbones and shoulders,” says Lee.

Eyes: Apply Film Noir Kohl Eye Pencil in Eclipse close to the upper lash line and gently smudge. “I then swept a coat of Visionaire Eyeshadow Duo in Suede all over her lid and gently pressed the lighter of the two shades in the center,” says Lee. Finish off the eyes with two coats of Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara.

Brows: Softly shape brows with Arch Sculpting Brow Pencil in Dark Brunette.

Lips: Apply Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Edition. “As a contrast to the glowing skin, I wanted to keep Isabeli’s lips matte with a soft wash of pink. It looked divine.”

For La Perla’s Black Label collection, which referenced mysterious themes including erotic art and surrealism, Lee switched the focus from the lips to the eyes. “The second look is a fresh take on the classic smoky eye, featuring a blend of black and brown kohl liner,” she says. “There are no harsh lines, it’s a softer interpretation that showcases beautiful, almond-shaped eyes.”

Lee has a mixmaster approach to makeup: To imbue skin with a multi-dimensional luminescence, she combined three different shades of Hourglass foundation, concealer, and finishing powder. As for the scene-stealing scarlet lip, she blended two shades of Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick. “It was one part Icon and three parts Raven,” she says. “The mixture of blue red and orange red makes for an opulent and regal fall statement.”

EYES: Augment brows with Hourglass Arch Sculpting Brow Pencil in Soft Brunette. Next, line the eyes with Hourglass Film Noir Kohl Eye Pencil in Espresso, and apply the mauve shimmer shade from Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Exhibition to the lids. “To create a watery effect, I like to dampen my brush with a little No. 28 Primer Serum,” says Lee. “Unlike using water, the shadow never really dries down.” Finish with a few coats of Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara.

LIPS: Apply Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick in Raven and Icon. “I melted the shades together and applied the new color with a lip brush,” says Lee. “Although vibrant, it’s not an especially sharp shape. It’s still fresh, delicate and elegant.”

LOOK TWO: La Perla Black Label

LIPS: Apply Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick in Grace. “This shade enhances your natural lip color,” says Lee. “The sensual flesh tone is as appropriate for everyday as it is for the La Perla runway.
