Popularized by Cleopatra and her ilk, the cat-eye has long been in vogue but some women still find it daunting. The trick is to use a pencil first to create a guiding template across the top of your eye. Increase the thickness of the line as you move along the eye and flick it out at the outer corner. For perfect symmetry, line the angle of the flick up with the end of your eyebrows. Trace back over the line with Calligraphy Liquid Eye Liner for a more dramatic payoff.
For a more subtle 60s-inspired kitten eye, use Script Precision Liquid Liner. Its micro-fine tip makes it easy to create subtle intrigue. “To achieve a perfectly symmetrical flick, I like to use adhesive tape as a guide,” says Robin Flanagan, Hourglass Account Executive. “Place a piece of tape on top of the eye, going out from the inner corner at a slight angle. Then use a smaller piece angling up underneath the lashes to meet the top piece. Fill in the gap with your liner. Make sure the liner is dry before removing.”
